The Edward P. Boland Scholarship Fund

The Edward P. Boland Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to high school seniors and college students from the Second Congressional District of Massachusetts.  The Fund is named for the late Edward P. Boland, who established it upon his retirement in 1988 from the United States Congress, where he represented the Massachusetts Second District for 36 years.

Each year, the Fund awards scholarships of $500-$2500 to 10-20 Western Massachusetts students.  The first scholarships were given in 1990 and since then the Fund has distributed nearly a half-million dollars to over one hundred accomplished students from the Second District.
